Bielefeld University is an ideal partner for the CMB training group due to its recently implemented graduate training program (MS and PhD level) in computational biology.  Many of the research interests of Bielefeld faculty overlap with those of ISU and NMSU participants. To foster the ISU/NMSU/Bielefeld relationship, Bielefeld faculty will be invited to speak at our annual inter-institutional retreats.  We are optimistic that these interactions will help foster collaborations and will result in a number of CMB trainees participating in international study.  Such interactions may also reveal new opportunities for shared coursework and seminars through distance education.
